3 Days in Singapore

Many people can wonder if Singapore is a state or a city. It is actually both! The airport Changi in Singapore is massive. Apart from that, it is modern and innovative. If you have a transit flight at this airport with a connection in a few hours, you will not get bored or hungry. There is a small botanical garden, lot of shops and you can also let your legs get massaged in an automatic machine. This is very pleasant after a long flight.

If you have a VIP lounge membership, you can enjoy tasty Malaysian food and other features. You can also sleep and shower in a Transit hotel if you have too many hours stopover. I have created a special itinerary for you to see all the beauty of Singapore for a 3 days in this metropolis.

Weather

Weather

The weather in Singapore is very hot and humid, the temperature is whole year approximately the same which is 27-31 Celsius. The coldest month is considered January at 26 Celsius. In this time is also the most rainfall. The raining season lasts from November till January. Therefore avoid visiting during that time.

Accommodation

Singapore is surrounded by the best hotels in the world. The futuristic architecture of the metropolis is just stunning! One of the best hotels is considered Marina Bay Sands with a garden on the top and the largest rooftop infinity pool in the world!  The Marina Bay Sands is not just a hotel, it is also a shopping centre!

For my stay, I chose PAN PACIFIC hotel on a very high floor with an incredible view of the Marina Bay Sands. The location is also perfect, right next to the Shopping Mall and Convention centre. Check my review here.

My 3 days itinerary

Day one

Explore the city with a Hop-on, hop-off bus and then stop in places you like. It is a guided bus which will take you for example to China Town, India town, Marina Bay or Sentosa Island!

You can purchase either just a one day ticket or for 2 days which can be convenient if you plan to visit Sentosa Island that you don’t need to worry about other transport. The one day ticket costs around $40 AUD. Check the exact info on the official website.

India town

Explore city markets, go to the Botanical Garden while is still afternoon. Then visit a shopping centre in Marina Bay which can take 2-3 hours (depends on how much you love shopping). Finish your day with a night walk along Marina Bay, check the statue of Lion (Merlion) and watch the light show!

For dinner check street food at Boon Tat Street Food Market if you feel like experience authentic Singaporean cuisine. You can do a fancy dinner some another night.

For a lunch time, try some traditional Malaysian food such as Chicken rice!  The meal is simple but Malaysian people love it and it is just a must to try. It is mild and easy without having too many flavours. Flat rice noodles are delicious too. However, the taste can be strong for some people.

Day Two

Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island offers a lot of fun! Try a zip line! It was my first time I have tried it, and I was a bit scared. Finally, it was completely fine and fun!  My zip line was for some reason kind of slow and I got stuck before the end. However, it was just my case as other people didn’t have a problem. I would love to try it again but I think next time I wouldn’t mind if it is more scary, fast and longer.:-)

Garden by the bay

This is a must-see in Singapore! On the way back from Sentosa Island, visit Garden by the Bay before sunset to see it from the top.  Enjoy the night view as well as it is magnificent!  It might take 2 hours to explore the whole garden. Get to the top part before the sunset and stand until dark. I recommend booking it in advance to avoid being disappointed. Don’t ruin your vacation.

Once you explore the top, wait for the Garden Rhapsody light show with music at Supertree Grove. It is free and it starts at 7:45 and 8:45 pm daily. You will feel like being in a movie. Seeing all these blinking lights followed by magnificent music just make you be fulfilled with a joy and feeling like being a kid again. 🙂

Day Three

Universal Studios Singapore

To be honest this was my first Universal Studios ever! They are all over the world and I think I want to check the Universal Studios in some other country again. I also really want to see Universal Studios in the USA.

I would say that the place is the best for children and families. Universal Studios are also great for lovers of anime movies. You can experience rides with 3D simulations, sounds effects and feeling like being a part of the movie. It is more intensive than just a 4D cinema, you will have a ride inside. In some attraction you will wear special glasses to see all the effects, other attractions are “just rides” but they are cool as well.:-)

For film lovers, check a film tour where can you learn about filming and effects – for example, learn how they create rain in a movie, how they use the sounds effects or how they create a wind. Interesting!

I would recommend to arrive earlier in the morning as there are very long queues for each attraction, waiting time can be an hour or even more! Universal Studios require a whole day to fully enjoy all the entertainment. Consider a VIP ticket if you want to skip never-ending lines and enjoy more rides.

In the evening enjoy your time in some nice restaurant in the city. This time, you might try a fancy one.:-)

  1. Really great post! It’s help me a lot for my travel to Singapore from Nepal ??.thanks Diana

  2. What I can add – for a very nice panoramic view of Singapore go to Marina Barrage, which is only around 15-minute walk away from the Gardens by the Bay. I really like the view from there at night, but it’s the same as nice also during the day.
