The cheapest hotel in Tokyo

THE CHEAPEST hotel in Tokyo

I spent just 3 days in Tokyo. I was thinking whether to stay in a nice hotel, try backpacker hostel or something unique that can be found just in Japan. Finally, I decided – if I am in Japan, I want to try a Capsule hotel!

Have you ever heard about a Capsule hotel before?

The hotel is designed to accommodate a large amount of people in an extremely small rooms (capsules). Each capsule contains a bed,  light, wall socket and air (don’t worry you can breathe inside).

I stayed at the 9 hours Capsule hotel in Shinjuku which looks like it has come straight out of a sci-fi!  The area, the design of the capsules, instructions on the walls and even the lighting give a very futuristic appearance.:-)

The Capsule hotel provides a towel, a toothbrush with a small toothpaste, a shower cap, slippers and even pyjamas (yes, you heard correctly 🙂 ) and in addition, each shower has toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.

Each shower is completely private, can be locked and there is also a space to put your stuff. Public shower areas have huge mirrors, wall sockets to charge your phone and hair dryer – simply everything that every woman needs. 🙂

You can feel fresh and clean.

The Capsule hotel in Shinjuku has separated floors for men and women. The rest area is near the reception.

This style of accommodation is perfect for one day, however, if you are planning for a longer stay, be aware that you have to check out by 10 am and check in is from 1 pm every day.

The size of the cabinet is in the picture. I was a bit worried about my luggage size that it wouldn’t fit but finally all good! Staying in a Capsule hotel, you definitely should pack light or use this compression bags

The more travel experience I have,, the more I  understand how many things are actually necessary and how many items I just don’t need at all! 🙂

Save money on booking

Price starts from $35 AUD (depends on when you book it and which month and sometimes they have a deal with free breakfast included!
