Gili Trawangan Island – a Cheap Vacation with a Stunning Ocean

Have you ever heard of Gili Islands? When I was travelling to Bali more than a year ago, my friends introduced me this island.

I had no idea about it before and wasn’t sure what to expect.

We caught a ferry from Padang Bai which stops on 2 other islands – Lombok and Gili Air. They looks great too. Finally, we arrived at Gili Trawangan! Oh wow, the ocean was just stunning!

The island is quite small and it is easy to walk around the whole island in one or two hours.

The funny fact is that you will feel like that you just go further and further but then you realise that you are back from where have you started! 🙂

While are you there, hire a bike! It is fun to just chill out and ride along the island.

Check the Swing

Have some coconut water in coconut with the pulp that you can eat afterwards! It was so yummy.

Or ….

… have a freshly squeezed juice! There are everywhere and the price is just 3-4 AUD.

In the afternoon you can go snorkelling, swimming or exploring the markets.

How about to try some spa, massage or just eat and drink? 🙂

This island is famous as a “party” island. Australians like it as they can get cheap drinks. However, if you are not a drinker, you can just enjoy the ocean, fresh juices, delicious ice creams and relax.

Do you want more action? Then explore the islands nearby by. Just take a boat tour, the islands are very close to each other. You can go to Lombok and do some hike or just explore another island.
